This is a very comprehensive overview of ADHD, primarily in children, but also in adults. I found the introduction's history of ADHD very interesting. While the disorder is commonly thought to be a recent phenomenon, the introduction points out that the group of symptoms has been recognized since at least 1845.

There's a lot of good research-based information here and it's fairly current, very informative and clear.
