This is a fabulous article by a very caring therapist, which defines the symptoms of AD/HD in young girls, adolescents, and adult women very well.

I liked this article, but do find it somewhat short-sited. It gives good basic ideas for parenting young girls into womanhood and dealing with ADD/ADHD, but there are many more options than those presented. This is a complicated syndrome and while ideas are good, they are just ideas and they may or may not apply to you or your daughter. I would consider this a personal overview by a doctor who is comfortable treating girls and women in a fairly specific way. She comes off as extremely intuitive and caring and I would imagine that talking to her in person would be very different from the article.

Can you take ADD medications during pregnancy? How are women with ADHD different than men with the same diagnosis? This resource answers these questions and more in an easy-to-understand style.

This is an impressive article, not only because of the very practical information on how ADD (ADHD) affects girls and women. It wholeheartedly takes that necessary step away from basing all knowledge of a disorder on males, so important with this disorder in particular.
